It wasn't unusual to see a dolphin here or there, but on this particular afternoon a group of dolphins put on quite a show right in front of our house. They were barely off shore, to the delight of everyone on the beach and the few of us lucky to see it from our balcony. After this snazzy move, the entire beach erupted into cheers. Bravo!
I believe a group of dolphins is called a pod. Not trying to be a jerk by telling you that, just sharing because I think it's cool. :-)
How cool to see something like that from the beach! And y'all from your balcony! That's amazing.

I had that word in the back of my mind, but at midnight I can never trust the back of my mind. How many dolphins do you have to have to be considered a pod? Is two a pod, or just a pair?

Yea! Between the dolphins showing off, the fish jumping out of the water, the deer running around under our noses and 2 kids on a 2nd story BALCONY (yikes) you still managed to get a GREAT shot!! You go, momma!
